Former Tigers - Update
Two former Detroit Metro Tigers are currently signed to play pro ball this spring with the same team. Matt Dillard (Tigers 2006) and Ryan Kottke (Tigers 2006) are both set to play with the Traverse City Beach Bums of the Frontier League in 2008. DIllard is a hard throwing relief pitcher who played briefly with the Bums in 2007. Kottke is a solid defensive catcher who played in the United League last year. Both players should be welcomed additions to the Beach Bums roster. The Metro Tigers wish both players the best.

Former Tigers Set To Return
Two Tigers are set to return to the team in 2008. One is the lefty #29 and the other is #17, as left handed hitter. More to come in the coming weeks.

Tigers Sign Left Handed Pitcher
The Tigers announce today that they have signed Steve Schypinski, left handed pitcher, from Macomb Community College for the summer season. Steve is a quality pitcher who has good movement and a variety of pitches. Steve is a welcomed addition to the Tigers pitching staff.

Tigers Sign Infielder
The Tigers today signed infielder Steve Vanderheyde from Adrian College. Steve is a solid fielder who adds to the Tigers defensive infield. On the offensive side, Steve is a high average hitter who gets on base and makes things happen. The Tigers welcome Steve to the team.

Tigers Sign Outfielder
The Tigers today signed outfielder Mike D'Agnese from Hillsdale University. Mike is a freshman who is a solid fielder with excellent speed and a very good arm. At the plate, Mike gives the Tigers a solid bat with some good power.

Updated Training
Please note the tryout/training changes.
We are now going to practice on Sundays, starting January 13 at 11AM. Note the time change. It's now 11AM.
We also are going to practice on Tuesday nights starting January 15. Time on Tuesday is 9PM until 10PM.
Total cost for all of this is $65. If you are unable to pay upfront, then the cost is $8 per session.

Tigers sign 2 more for 2008
The Tigers sign 2 more players for 2008, Dan Delamielleure and Tim Parent. Dan is a right handed pitcher and infielder formally from Grand Valley State. Dan provides the team with a quality arm on the mound. He also is very solid defensively and has a very good bat who can hit at the top or the bottom of the lineup. Tim is a left handed pitcher from Adrian. Tim is a solid pitcher who should compete for time at the top of the Tigers rotation.

Tigers 2008 Training
2008 Detroit Metro Tigers training will begin January 13 at 11:00 am. Location will be at Batter Up Sports. For location and more information, check out there web site at www.batterupsports.net. The Tigers will practice every Sunday at 11 am. Additional practices will be on Tuesday from 9 to 10 pm, also at Batter Up Sports.

Tigers sign 3
With the start of 2008, the Detroit Metro Tigers announce the signing of 3 new players, pitcher Jacob Sponsler, infielder Pat Giordano and outfielder David Duva. Jacob comes to the Tigers from Battle Creek Del Seat. While with Del Seat, Jacob helped guide the team to a 2006 World Series runner-up finish. Pat Giordano comes to the Tigers after a year with the Pontiac Parkers. Pat helped guide the Parkers to a NABF Regional birth in 2007. David Duva comes to the Tigers after a stint with the Pontiac Bobcats. All three players are welcomed additions to the Tigers roster.
